Sai Karan Malik, Specialist Optometrist and Independent Prescriber

Toddington Eyecare is a family-run optometry practice dedicated to delivering quality eyecare to the local community. Sai Karan, a native of Canada, moved to the UK to pursue a degree in Optometry from Aston University in Birmingham, graduating in 2010. His pre-registration year was spent gaining hands-on experience at a busy community practice and a university hospital in South London, where he worked in acute eyecare, binocular vision and orthoptic clinics, low vision clinics, and neonatal ophthalmology.

In 2014, Sai Karan briefly returned to Canada to complete his Doctor of Optometry Equivalency at the University of Waterloo, adding further expertise and excellence to his optometric practice. After returning to the UK, Sai Karan and his wife opened Redbourn Eyecare, providing exceptional eyecare services to the surrounding community, with a focus on personalized patient care.

After nearly a decade of working as a consulting optometrist, Sai Karan and his wife took over ownership of Toddington Eyecare. This new chapter allows them to continue utilizing their skills and passion for eye health to serve the Toddington community with the same commitment to excellence seen at their sister practice.

When not in the clinic, Sai Karan works as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Glaucoma at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. Outside of work, he enjoys motorsports, traveling, and bodybuilding.

Roshana Malik, Specialist Optometrist and Independent Prescriber

Toddington Eyecare is committed to providing high-quality eyecare services, guided by the expertise of Roshana and her husband Karan. Born and raised in the UK, Roshana developed an interest in eyecare at a young age due to her family’s history of myopia and glaucoma. This early exposure to optometry inspired her to pursue a degree in Optometry from Aston University, where she graduated in 2010.

Roshana completed her pre-registration year at a bustling community practice in Luton, working closely with the esteemed Ophthalmology department at Luton & Dunstable Hospital. During this time, she gained invaluable experience in emergency eyecare, medical retina, low vision, and pediatric clinics.

After spending several years working in community practices across the UK, Roshana expanded her scope by working in pre- and post-operative care for a surgical company. Her commitment to clinical excellence led her to pursue her Doctor of Optometry equivalency at Waterloo University in Canada.

Upon returning to the UK, Roshana and her husband opened Redbourn Eyecare, a joint venture built on their shared passion for providing personalized eyecare services with a focus on patient experience and trust.

Now, Roshana and Karan have taken over ownership of Toddington Eyecare, bringing their collective skills and dedication to serve the local community with the same high standards they’ve established at their sister practice.

When she’s not working at Toddington Eyecare, Roshana continues her clinical work in medical retina speciality at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring new cuisines, and indulging in a bit of retail therapy.
